Most companies have a vast amount of information in their systems, but it is often a challenge to gain access to it. Business Intelligence has contributed to this issue, since it involves accumulating a lot of information, but also requires producing reports to be able to make use of that information. The production of the reports can be a time consuming and complex process. That's why organizations are starting to look at combining search technology with BI databases.
